Discrimination without description. Are the differences conceptualised or fully subconscious?

This paper uses an innovative analysis of an individual‟s cognitive processes to investigate a real-life example of processing rendered subconcious by a mask that shared characteristics with the varied feature. In about half the participants, integrative performance on the object was better than analytical performance on the feature. The cognitive processes mediating this achievement varied among assessors. In a few, the integrative judgment discriminated levels of the feature directly through sensory processes (subceptually).
