چکیده
This paper uses an innovative analysis of an individual‟s cognitive processes to investigate a real-life example of processing rendered subconcious by a mask that shared characteristics with the varied feature. In about half the participants, integrative performance on the object was better than analytical performance on the feature. The cognitive processes mediating this achievement varied among assessors. In a few, the integrative judgment discriminated levels of the feature directly through sensory processes (subceptually). The others succeeded by implicitly using the analytical concept to achieve feature discrimination in overall

Subconscious Stimulus Recognition and Processing During Sleep
During sleep, consciousness is reduced, associated with a diminished connection of the brain to the environment. This is due to the blocking of the thalamocortical pathway by inhibitory mechanisms. This “thalamic gating” during sleep, however, is not complete, but partial. The stream of information is considerably reduced, but the brain is not fully disconnected from the environment. An inspect...

متن کاملSubconscious detection of threat as reflected by an enhanced response bias.
Neurobiological and cognitive models of unconscious information processing suggest that subconscious threat detection can lead to cognitive misinterpretations and false alarms, while conscious processing is assumed to be perceptually and conceptually accurate and unambiguous. Furthermore, clinical theories suggest that pathological anxiety results from a crude preattentive warning system predom...
متن کامل14.662 S15 Labor Economics II Lecture 19
We observe systematic differences in labor market outcomes across men and women, and across racial groups. While a variety of models we have covered so far in 14.661 and 14.662 could in theory fully explain these differences, economists have long focused attention on the idea that genderor race-based discrimination may be another empirically relevant explanation. While attention often focuses o...
متن کاملA Fully Integrated Approach for Better Determination of Fracture Parameters Using Streamline Simulation; A gas condensate reservoir case study in Iran
Many large oil and gas fields in the most productive world regions happen to be fractured. The exploration and development of these reservoirs is a true challenge for many operators. These difficulties are due to uncertainties in geological fracture properties such as aperture, length, connectivity and intensity distribution. To successfully address these challenges, it is paramount to im...
